Golden Lagoon Convoy is a gold and gold chrome redeco of MP-10 in homage of the original cartoon episode of the same name. He retains his energon axe, ion blaster, and Matrix of Leadership. Part of TakaraTomy's 35th anniversary celebration, he was initially released at Summer Wonder Festival 2018, then later through Cybertron Satellite stores across Japan and TakaraTomy Mall.
Optimus Prime was subject to several molding and color variations in his early days. The earliest release of the figure featured larger fists, a gun with a thick, round barrel, a slightly-differently shaped gas pump, grey rockets, a grey Roller, a grey launcher in his Combat Deck, and metal plates in the floor of the Combat Deck (a holdover from the Diaclone version of the toy, to which the magnetic feet of the pilots could cling). In short order, his fists were slimmed down, the gun's barrel was pared down to a more slender form, the gas pump's shape was altered, the rockets and launcher were recast in black plastic, the metal plates were removed from the Combat Deck, and Roller's color was changed to a light blue. Along with Roller's color change, however, the Combat Deck's drone pod also became light blue, and a third running change soon followed that saw it restored to its original darker blue, and Roller changed along with it. These modified components would become the default accessories used by subsequent reissues of the Prime toy would take, though Roller stills fluctuates back and forth between grey and dark blue, depending on how show-accurate each reissue wants to be.
Designated "Optimus Prime" rather than the traditional Japanese "Convoy", this figure is a redeco of the previous Music Label Convoy figure into the character's traditional red, blue and silver color scheme. Unlike previous re-issues of the mold, iPod Optimus Prime's sports a paint application similar to KissPlayers Convoy, having its ABS/PVC parts painted over with a thin layer of his iconic red, white (silver if you will) and blue motif paint applications (with the exception of his iPod docking trailer). This includes his trailer, though the effect is somewhat marred by the large, visible gap on one side. When reconfigured into dock mode, the interior surfaces surrounding the speakers are decorated with black-on-silver techno-patterns as well as three "Optimus Prime" logos. The recessed space also features a stylised, almost Frank Milleresque, high-contrast portrait of Prime's face, although this is largely covered when an iPod is inserted. The figure comes in identical packaging to the original Music Label Convoy, save for the addition of a sticker illustrating the different color of its contents.
After returning with Ironhide's body, Hot Rod was shocked as Optimus Prime resigned his position as leader. When Optimus Prime left the Autobots and surrendered to humans, Hot Rod and few others decided to break from the main Autobot group and leave Earth. As he requested Omega Supreme's help, he met and stroke an alliance with a small group of Decepticons led by Swindle. They then began to build an interstellar vessel. Swindle informed Hot Rod that some of bots in the group have started calling Hot Rod, "Rodimus Prime". Ultra Magnus and his team arrived to arrest Rodimus, for committing treason for working with the enemy. Just then, Swindle walked over and said that he will take over now. Rodimus said that he had things under control, but Swindle dropped the charade and said he plans to take the ship off the planet, and kill as many Autobots as he can before that. Swindle gave the order for the Stunticons to merge into Menasor, his newest creation. After winning the battle against the Deceptions with help from Optimus and Spike's Skywatch soldier, Magnus found Rodimus and told him he was under arrest for willful collusion with the enemy. Rodimus attempted to justify his actions, but Silverstreak was fed up with him. Bumblebee interceded between Magnus and Rodimus, telling Magnus to back off. Magnus, not one to be ordered around, attempted to supplant Bumblebee's authority. Bumblebee snapped, and he told Magnus that they have felt lost and scared ever since Megatron stole the Matrix of Leadership. He also said that he was in charge until the Matrix is recovered and it chooses someone else. Hot Rod overheared this, as he snuck off and stole Ultra Magnus' shuttle, leaving Earth. He went to assault the Decepticon base on a satellite, taking the Matrix of Leadership back from Starscream, only to encounter a newly reformated Megatron, who blasted him in outer space, leaving him seemingly dead. Floating through space, Rodimus crash-lands on a desolate planet with the Matrix bonding onto his body which keeps him alive.

In robot mode, Voyager class Optimus Prime is proportionally more accurate to his CGI design than the leader class toy and has a more accurate headsculpt, but due to the aforementioned lessened complexity significant sacrifices had to be made, such as "cheats" to the transformation sequence, to achieve this and thus he is overall less accurate than he initially appears. In addition to previously mentioned changes, he carries much of the truck's front hood, grill and fenders on his back like a backpack. However, he maintains a superb level of articulation and posability.

Seibertron member, carytheone, has directed us to CarScoops.com, which has revealed that General Motors are to be auctioning off four of its Transformers Movie Camaros from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Transformers: Age of Extinction and Transformers: The Last Knight. The car itself was as much of a star as the Transformers themselves and even the actors, so the interest is bound to be high. These are surely the auctions for “big bucks” Car - Read More

Each of his kabuto helmets forms the head for one of the two combined modes. In addition, either of his kabuto helmets can be connected to his robot mode back (allowing his swords to also be stored on his back), and both can be connected to the rear of his train mode simultaneously. In robot mode or combined mode, his kabuto helmets can be held individually as a shield or combined into an even larger shield.

This figure was made available again, without any changes, in 2015, this time in new packaging resembling the then-concurrent packaging design for the Generations line, but replacing the name "Generations" with "Authentic Transformers". It was also given a new Hasbro product code number and UPC barcode, thereby technically making it a separate product. In 2017, it was re-released again, this time in a minor variant of the 2014 version's packaging (including the original product code number and barcode) that now lacked the reference to the non-existing "Reveal the Shield" gimmick.
Originally, Optimus Prime was created as the leader of the Autobots, though it is unknown how he was created or his origins. In a possible future, Megatron was threatened by the existence of the Aerialbots and had Shockwave build a time machine to send them back in time to get rid of them. However, he only ended up changing history for the better. In the revised timeline, Optimus Prime began his life as a robot named Orion Pax, a mostly defenseless dock worker during the Golden Age of Cybertron nine million years ago, with a girlfriend named Ariel and a best friend named Dion. During this time, a new breed of robot with new flight capabilities appeared on the planet that Orion idolized. When Megatron, the leader of the new group of robots, approached him with inquiries about using one of the dock warehouses, Orion was swayed by Megatron. Both Orion and Ariel were severely wounded when Megatron and his forces attacked in order to claim the energy stored there. Searching for someone to help them, the time-displaced Aerialbots took Orion and Ariel to the ancient Autobot, Alpha Trion, who used them as the first subjects for the new reconstruction process he had developed involving rebuilding the frail Autobot frames into more battle-hardy configurations.
